CHICAGO – (March 20, 2017) – For most 21 yr. olds, a train commute to work in downtown Chicago is a daily, if mundane, part of being employed. For Park Ridge resident, Matt DeLacy, that same train commute is a milestone. DeLacy, a young adult with autism, is a participant in Teachability’s job mentoring program, a do-it-yourself job transition program, from school to the workplace, for teens and young adults with autism.
Seeking Small Local Businesses for Teachability Pilot Program
PARK RIDGE – (November, 2016) – For parents who have children with autism, a deep frustration exists once their child has completed their education and now faces employment challenges as a young adult.
When Park Ridge resident, Cindy Montgomery, recognized the disconnect between transition services for her son with autism, and true employment opportunities for him, she created Teachability™, LLC, an organization that connects small businesses and young adults with autism, by providing them with a unique pre-employment experience.
